NDPA’s
Director, Peter Stoker, is able
to provide
consultancy services across a wide range of drug-related subjects.
Whilst NDPA’s focus
is on Primary (or ‘Universal’) Prevention, Mr Stoker has worked for
many years with specific client groups, such as those engaged by
Selective and
Indicated Prevention. He has also worked as a drug counsellor, social
services Practice Teacher, and Justice System advocate. In the
academic field he has produced individual and joint papers, such as
those with Professor Roy Evans of Brunel University; he is the author
of books and
book chapters, conference and journal papers, and is a regular
contributor to national and local broadcast and print media. In the
past three years
he has presented at conferences in Rome, Stockholm, Visby (Sweden),
Palermo, Bucharest, Varna and Bourgas (Bulgaria), St Petersburg,
Florida, Vero, Brussels EP Centre, Florida, St Louis, Missouri, Riga,
Latvia, as well as several in the UK.
In April 2004, Mr Stoker
was presented
with the prestigious
PRIDE Youth Programs International Award, PRIDE being the oldest and
largest prevention NGO in the world.
